Astrology and Ayurveda are greatly connected with each other. Astrology also related with the karmayog of human being and to get escape from the cycle of birth and death. It is very important to have a sharir, man and indriya only then one can reach out his/ her soul (Atma). Ayurveda highlights that, primarily there are three doshas (tridosh) and any imbalance in the basic attributes of these three (dosha) leads to several diseases.

These doshas are known – Vat (vayu), Pitta and Kapha. While in astrology lagna, Sun and Moon resembles to Vat, Pitta and kapha. Primarily lagna or ascendant deals with body or general strength and weakness of the person. Sun naturally deals with Pitta or heat and Kapha is represented by Moon. These are the basics of both the subjects & as we study in details the nature of the disease and its concerns then one has to take care of many more aspects into interpretation. Charak Samhita is an authentic & oldest classic in Ayurveda written long back by the legendary physician Charakacharya. In his Granth he says an Ayurvedacharya, while attending a new patient should always keep in account planetary bodies in the sky & combine this with his perfect knowledge of Ayurveda to know the precise depth of disease and the time it will take to cure.

According to astrological science 6th house (Rogsthan) and its lord specifies disease, 8th house (Mrutyusthan) and its lord signifies the longevity of the disease & Jataka and 12th house (Vyayasthan) and its lord represents the time, money and inconvenience and suffering of the person by a particular ailment. Further, there are many more factors which also need to be considered into like the effect of malefic planets on these houses and incapability of benefic planets to aid the subject or native.
